In view of the current Covid-19 situation there is a level of risk management that has been put in place in order to reduce the risk of infection to both patient and practitioner by accidentally passing on the virus during your visit.
As you will be aware there is a danger of carrying the virus without obvious symptoms during the first few days of infection. To the best of my knowledge I have not been in contact with any known cases.
I have had both first and booster vaccines as a level 2 healthcare worker
For the safety of other patients I need to be as certain as possible that everyone who comes here has not been in recent contact with anyone who is unwell with Covid-19 and that you are not experiencing any symptoms yourself such as a temperature or a new persistent cough. At present I am offering video consultation with advice and exercises for those patients who are still shielding or for whom attendance is not appropriate.
Risk management procedures for hands on appointments:
The treatment table, all furniture, and door handles are cleaned with high-grade non-bleach disinfectant between patient appointments. It has no odour and doesn’t mark clothing. I shall be wearing protective covering and a face mask and observing hand cleaning procedures.
We ask patients to wait in their car until the time of the appointment and you will be called in, we will go round the side entrance only. It helps if you can wear light clothing such as a T-shirt and shorts or soft gym pants for the treatment.
Hand washing and sanitizing is available in the cloakroom before entering the treatment room. We offer a free new clean mask to all patients.
In order to reduce the amount of laundering required during the Covid-19 outbreak, we are asking each patient to bring their own freshly washed towel to lie on, any pillows in clean covers they wish to use and clean blankets for covering.
It helps reduce handling if you are able to pay by Bank transfer prior to the appointment: BACS details: Caroline Tosh Sort code: 20-33-83 Account: 20920630. Card payments are also acceptable at the appointment.
We are asking everyone who attends to confirm by e-mail immediately before your appointment, that you accept the risk and are content with these arrangements and also confirm that to the best of your knowledge you are free from Covid-19 symptoms and have not been in contact with a known active case in the past 14 days.
With Best Regards,
Caroline A Tosh, Severnside Osteopathy
